TNSCTP COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS


The Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program Scholarships recognize graduating seniors for their academic achievement, personal development, and dedication to responsible outdoor stewardship. These awards celebrate students who have grown as leaders and use their commitment to conservation and the lessons learned in TNSCTP to make a positive impact in their communities.  

Applications for 2026 Tennessee SCTP Scholarships are open through July 1, 2026. This application cycle is currently open for the graduating Class of 2026. Athletes can apply for multiple scholarships but may only be selected for one.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current TNSCTP Athlete
  • Graduating High School Senior (Class of 2026)
  • Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average

Applicants must include:

  • Essay: Please write and submit an essay answering the scholarship prompt (see prompts below)
  • Essay should be a minimum of 1000 words, typed, double-spaced, and in a plain text font.
  • Please do not put your name on the essay to keep scholarship committee nominations blind.
  • Academic Records: A copy of your most recent transcript sent via mail (does not need to be an official transcript)
  • Student Resume: Please include the following information
  • Contact Information
  • High School information
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Outdoor involvement
  • TNSCTP involvement

Scholarship Essay Prompts:

  • 1 $1000 selection, 3 $750 selections
  • Essay Prompt: What lessons have you learned (pick two to three) during your time as a Tennessee SCTP athlete and how have those lessons helped you off the field? 
  • 1 $1000 selection
  • Essay Prompt: Since 1937, hunters and target shooters have been the primary source of funding for wildlife conservation--through license fees and an excise tax on sporting goods. Explain how you would recruit more of your peers into the shooting sports to help fund wildlife conservation?
  • 1 $1000 selection
  • Essay Prompt: What leadership skills (choose two or three) have you developed during your time as a Tennessee SCTP athlete and how have you applied those skills to further conservation in Tennessee?
  • 2 $1000 selections
  • Essay Prompt: Who would you consider to be your mentor and why? How has your mentor pushed you to grow in shooting sports?

Scholarship Timeline

  • Deadline: All applications are due by 11:59 CST, July 1, 2026.
  • Notification: Scholarship winners will be notified after the Scholastic Clay Target Program National Championships with information on how the scholarship will be awarded. Winners will be announced shortly after winners have been notified.
  • Ceremony: Scholarship winners are invited to be officially presented their scholarship at the Academic All State Banquet in September 2026. 
  • Attendance is optional and is not required to receive awarded scholarships.
