Volunteer Land
One of the many cool things about Hunting and Fishing Academy is that we work with local landowners who volunteer their land to hunt on. Whether this is for a youth hunt, an adult hunt, or a group hunt, hunting on private land makes for a special first hunt memory. Below are some commonly asked questions and photos from previous private land hunts hosted by Hunting and Fishing Academy.
Do I need to have a certain insurance to volunteer my land?
No, Tennessee Wildlife Federation has an insurance policy that covers landowners. The specifics of this coverage are included in the image below.

Is there a minimum acreage amount needed to host a hunt?
It depends on the type of event. For big game hunts such as deer, it is hard to host more than 3 hunters on anything less than 40 acres.
Do I need to be there when the event takes place?
No, landowners are free to be as active as they wish. They can be present and involved the whole time, or they can simply leave the gate unlocked.
Does the property need to have access to power and water?
While it is a bonus to have access to power and water, we can get by without electricity and water, but it might impact what types of events we host there.
